What oils for infant massage?
For infant oils are recommended plant-based, cold-pressed, unscented and natural/organic, including sunflower, safflower, grapeseed, coconut and sesame oil, as they are gentle, nourishing and easily absorbed by delicate skin. These can be found in local stores or online at Whole Foods Market, Amazon and PCC Markets.
How to prepare for the infant massage or bodywork visit?
Please wait one week after your baby's vaccinations to ensure their comfortable.
Feed your baby at least 30 minutes before the appt. This can help calm them and ensure a smoother session.
Choose a warm, quiet space and soft surface with waterproof mat (if available). Music are welcome!
Gather essentials: One big towel, 2 hand towel, small blanket and your own oils.
additional for bath time only:
Infant bathtub and shampoo/washer ready for the session.
A big towel/robe and clean clothes for after the bath to keep your baby warm and comfortable.
Tongue-Tie Intra-Oral Therapy
What is the best time for the treatment?
Pre-frenectomy:
Plan your treatment please at least few days before your baby's frenectomy procedure. If needed, additional treatments can be scheduled to help prepare the tissues and improve the tongue's range of motion.
Post-Frenectomy:
Begin post-operative exercises 2-3 days after the procedure, once the lingual frenulum has started to heal(intra-oral). Gentle Infant Massage can beneficial anytime after the procedure to help soothe and comfort your baby.
Mild Tongue-Tie and Breastfeeding Difficulties:
With a gentle body massage to help relax your baby and release any tension. Using gloved fingers, I gently assess and work within the mouth to address the tongue, gums, and jaw, improving latch and feeding comfort. Each step is tailored to your baby’s unique needs.
